Pletcher Red Hot And Poised For Kentucky Derby Glory

4/22/13 - Todd Pletcher is well known as an exceptional trainer. This year he may be destined to hold the Kentucky Derby trophy.

His horses seem to be firing on all cylinders right now and with the Kentucky Derby less than 2 weeks away, he may just be in the perfect spot. His horses have been running lights out the last month or two and  the barn is red hot.

With horses like the undefeated Verrazano, who John Velasquez chose to ride in the derby over the Florida Derby winner Orb. The Arkansas Derby winner Overanalyze, who looked sensational winning under a hand ride. The Louisiana Derby winner Revolutionary, who is certainly a strong contender.

He also has the productive looking Palace Malice who went runner up in the Blue Grass stakes. The 3^rd place finisher in the Blue Grass, Charming Kitten is also in his barn.

Then to put the cherry on the cake, he just for fun, decided to win the Lexington Stakes this weekend with Winning Cause. While Winning Cause looks to be a synthetic track specialist, you just never know when this exceptional example of a thoroughbred trainer decides to run one.

Pletcher has long been a talented trainer, having won the Derby in 2010 with Super Saver. Yet this year has the feeling of something special brewing for the Pletcher Barn.

A win for Todd Pletcher is looking more and more likely.

Perhaps an exacta finish in this years Kentucky Derby??
